We’re over the moon about dry shampoo!
Dry shampoos absorb the oil in your hair, making it look clean. We’ve found that it was particularly useful when our hair was adjusting to not having its natural oils stripped by traditional commercial shampoos, but also when our hair needed some freshening up between washes.
While tons of dry shampoos are available, making your own is easy and fun when you incorporate your favorite scents with essential oil! Here’s our favorite method for homemade dry shampoo – with options for whether you have light hair or dark hair!
What you need:
- Arrowroot Powder
- Organic Cornstarch (light hair)
- Cocoa Powder (dark hair)
- Lavender Essential Oil (or the essential oil of your preference)
Instructions:
- Take two tablespoons of arrow root powder and combine with two tablespoons of cornstarch or cocoa Powder, depending on your hair color.
- Add 3-5 drops of your essential oil.
- With a makeup brush, apply the powder to the roots and oily parts of your hair.
- Comb powder through your hair.
Dry shampoo is one of our favorite things to have for busy on-the-go mornings!
