Nothing beats the satisfaction of a good workout!
But sometimes when you’re at the gym, realizing that you left something at home when you’re on your run or pumping some iron is a real drag. Here are a few things that we always have in our gym bag to make sure that we get the most out of our time at the gym.
Water
Hydrating is so important at the gym because it can help keep energy levels up during your workout. We love using a refillable canteen at the gym and drink regularly while we’re there.
Protein Shake
Whether you’re having one before or after your workout, a protein shake can help give you the energy boost that you need to go that extra mile or lift that extra set of reps and can also help your body recover after a trip to the gym. You can figure out what kind of protein powder might be right for you and keep some in your gym bag so all you need to do is add water.
Headphones
We all know songs that put an extra pep in our step. Our workout playlists are essential when we’re putting in a good workout because they help us focus. One of our least favorite things is to make it all the way to the gym and realize we don’t have headphones with us, so we try to keep an extra pair in our bags at all times.
Pre-Workout/Recovery
Whether you get your boost through supplements or liquids to help support endurance, strength, and energy to power through, pre-workout supplements like caffeine or pre-workout powders can help make sure you power through those free weights. Recovery is just as important, some supplements like L-Carnitine and L-Glutamine are helpful in helping to support your body after a grueling trip to the gym. We always keep pre-workout and recovery supplements in our bag!
