DIY Toys For Your Favorite Fur Ball from PipingRock

Are you totally infatuated with your little fur ball? We get it. We love our pets, too.

The one thing we can all count on from our pets—dogs or cats—is that they always provide a smile during hard times or, even, during good times. Spending time with them and seeing them be goofy and/or cute, just genuinely makes any day that much better. So, naturally, to get the happiest moments we decided to celebrate them, we’ve rounded up some fun DIY toys for you to make them. Not only will it be cool to make your own toys, but your pet will be super grateful!

Dog Toys

Dogs are the always playful and up to run around outside with you. Besides being intensely loyal, they love activities! So, here are two doggy DIY gifts you can give your bouncy, drool-loving friend today!

  • The Muffin Hunt

Is your pup always up to explore and insatiably curious? If he/she’s a total Indiana Jones in the world of dogs, then we’re sure that this toy will be a total hit. It may sound weird, but trust us, they will love it.

You’ll need a muffin tin, bright tennis balls (or normal, doesn’t matter) and Freeze Fried Alaskan Salmon Treats for Dogs and Cats. In each muffin tin, add a treat then place a tennis ball on top. Watch as your dog learns to uncover the treats by moving the balls around! It’s really fun and cute to watch!

  • T-Shirt Time

Dogs can get a kick out of any toy that presents them with a challenge. It seems like they are always interested in getting to the bottom of something and it’s seriously adorable. For the little detective of curiosity in your life, here’s an easy homemade toy that your dog will surely enjoy.

You’ll need an old t-shirt, treats or yummy chewable vitamins, and an empty water bottle for this one. Place the water bottle with a few treats hidden inside into the old t-shirt and wrap around tightly. Knot it closed. Give it to your pup!

Cat Toys

Cats are either high maintenance, low maintenance, or just…no patience. If you’re kitty loves hanging alone, lounging or is more playful and demanding for your love, we have two toys perfect for each personality!

  • The Low Maintenance Kitty String

While this may sound weird, a lot of cats can be *super picky* about toys and most of them turn up their nose to store bought items. One trick, that has proved beneficial in our experience, is easy to make and a lot of fun to play with–string!

Find craft string (cotton twine works fine) and cut about 1 foot in length. On the end of the string, add a few knick-knacks. This could be a scrunchy, some feathers, or even a bell. You make a small knot around all the things you choose. Then bob it around in the air and watch your cat love it! (Note: He/she may get really attached to it, bringing the toy to eat with them or dragging it around like a small stuffed animal, this is totally…not normal…but cute!)

  • The “Leave Me Alone” Kitty Sock

Is it just us or are cats obsessed with basically anything that is loud, annoying, and hyper-activity-inducing? We don’t get it, but love to watch them have a ball of a time, because it’s just cute. This toy is a great way to provide the independent kitty in your life endless entertainment while you look on laughing and saying “aw”. You’ll need some cat nip and a crinkle toy for this one! In a tube sock, add a decent amount of catnip... Tie the top of the tube sock closed. Then fold over the unfilled half over the filled half, making a ball shape. Throw on the ground and watch your cat have fun!

We hope your pets enjoy these DIY toy ideas and you have an awesome day with your favorite pal! Don’t forget to check out our pet products for both cats and dogs!
